What We're READING: Rosalind James

Getting PersonalPosted by Gaetana Tuesday, February 27 2018 10:35AM
I decide to do something I haven't do at all in a while for today's blog post and do a book related post. Since last year when I created my Reading List printable I wrote down every book and book series I wanted to finish since I got Kindle Unlimited for my birthday back in November. Since the start of the year I've been tackling the author Rosalind James books. Specifically her Escape to New Zealand series.

So this blog post is more of a highlight to the author because I love this series and I'm kind of sad because it's coming to the end of it. The series consist of 11 books and I'm on book 10 (Just Say Yes, shown above). It takes place in New Zealand like duh. But it features members of the countries rugby team of the All Blacks. I know nothing of rugby since it's not played at all really here in the U.S. but is big across Europe and etc. The women in the book sometimes feature some Americans or New Zealanders from all walks of life. Each plot is different and Rosalind James just has a way with her writing that takes you into the book. From the description of the places, the people and the situations. You become transfixed. I literally want to visit New Zealand. The rugby players would put our American football players to shame. I'm just saying.

She doesn't just say oh he's a rugby player. You actually learn the sport, the positions the players play, the terms and you're literally on the field with these players. Rooting and hoping they make it to the championship. You become one of the WAGS in a way. Each woman has to overcome some sort of obstacles while she's trying to navigate this crazy and sometimes fast paced relationship with this rugby player who is so strong and fierce and so sure of himself. There is always some huge obstacle that makes the relationship fall apart.Sometimes created by the characters or the situations they're in. But nevertheless, they overcome them and come back together.

Rosalind James is a phenomenal writer and I can't wait to start another one of her series. Definitely check her out. You won't be disappointed.
