This blog post has been a long time coming. If you follow us on social media then you might have seen us working on this beautiful piece during the summer. We call her "She So Earthy Glass Wood and Amber Carnelian necklace". She was gifted to our godmother for her birthday.

Our godmother is huge fan of earthy tones so we knew right away that we had to go through our entire bead collection to find the right mix for a piece for her.
I ended up pulling silver plated chain, silver plated findings, some leather cording, amber carnelian beads, some glass beads, and to finish off the mix some wood beads.
I then cut a piece of wire to the measurement I wanted then strung on the amber carnelian, a glass bead on each end, then a dark brown round bead and a brown flat disc bead on each end.Now it's time to close it off. I added a crimp bead and finished it off with a jump ring on each end.

Time to add the leather and finish this puppy. I cut two leather pieces of cording to the measurement I needed, added a spring and chain extension to one. The other I added the spring and lobster clasp. Now to attach to the other part of the necklace.
And she's done.

I mailed her off just in time to my godmother who was going through her entire stash of her jewelry she's received from me over the years. Which is a large amount. She raved about the piece when she called when she received it. She had a wedding to attend and she had just the outfit to go with it. Mission accomplished. Mind you, I was stressing about what to make her and waited until the last minute to come up with something and put in the mail in time for her bday. Won't be doing that again but so happy that I made another piece that will be well loved.
