Pure Beauty Cia E. Custom Necklace

Custom Jewelry ProjectsPosted by Gaetana Tuesday, December 28 2010 11:55AM
I've been so busy recently that I'm now getting to post about my last custom order back in November. Following our last custom earring made for Cia E. of Naps.Kinks.Love , she wanted a custom necklace feature a unique Africa pendant with the words "Pure Beauty Cia E." . Cia E. also wanted the pendant to feature a Afrocentric woman with a Afro.

I emailed her several necklace ideas and we decided on the design of our Yellow Tundra Beaded Shell necklace. (shown below)
I then drew several pictures of the Afrocentric woman to be featured on the Africa pendant. We then decided on this picture. (shown below)
I then gathered all the supplies which include gray paint to paint the image and words on the pendant, black wooden beads, the black wooden African pendant and vintage carved black gray plastic barrel beads.

Now onto designing the piece. I first started with a blank but detailed African pendant.
I then wrote the words we discussed on the front of the pendant in pencil. (Pure Beauty Cia E.)
I then drew the picture of the Afrocentric woman and the words, "Pure Beauty Cia E." on the back of the pendant with pencil.
From there I added the paint to the areas I drew to the front and the then the back of the pendant.
After then letting the pendant dry I added the beads the necklace and strung on the pendant.
I then had more beads left over so I decided to make a matching pair of earrings to surprise Cia E. with.
Here's a complete look of the matching set.
What I love most about this piece is that you can wear the necklace one way and then the next time wear the other side depending on how you're feeling. I would like to thank Cia E. for bring me this unique piece. I had fun working on it and communicating back and forth with the buy. Definitely a piece I will lost for ages.
