June was a very good reading month for me. Mostly a Colleen Hoover filled month too. I've always heard about her books but never picked one up.Now I'm determined to read them all. I managed to knock off 7 books off the PopSugar Reading Challenge. Now onto what I read.
*A book based on a fairy tale: Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover
I finally caved in and read this book and I'm so glad I did.I couldn't put it down. This was the beginning of my Colleen Hoover obsession.Daniel and this girl who he nicknamed Cinderella have a brief encounter in the janitors closet . He meets Six the following year and feels connected to her automatically. He soon realizes Six is Cinderella which doesn't make Six happy one bit. Six then confess her trip abroad to Italy wasn't what it was as she was telling everyone. She found out she was pregnant, gave birth and then gave the baby up for adoption. Daniel and Six managed to get past that and look forward to a future together. Personally, I was hooked and what to know what happens next with them. Keep my fingers crossed she makes another book about Daniel and Six. Definitely recommend this book and this author. Believe the hype. Her books are great!
* A book that's under 150 pages: For Bear or For Worse by Meredith Clarke
This book was super short and I wished it was longer. Cole is a alpha bear shifter who meets Avery who he thought was a shifter in a shifter club. Turns out she's human which is a no no with the elders. Cole doesn't want a mate as of yet but the elders are breathing down his neck. He comes to realize that Avery is his mate despite her being human and risks his life to keep her safe. To do that he must leave the territory and take whatever pack members that stands with him. The book ends on a cliff hanger.I'll definitely read the next book to see what happens next.
* A book with a blue cover: Barbarian's Touch (Ice Planet Barbarians #7) by Ruby Dixon
This book is the latest book in the Ice Planet Barbarian series. Firstly, I highly recommend this series and you can read the books standalone but I recommend reading from the beginning. In this one, two sister are awoken from the pods on the alien ship. One (Lilah) is very angelic but now deaf again due to the alien's removing her hearing implant and the other (Maddie) is a burst of energy and very productive of her sister. Lilah is then kidnapped by one of the other barbarians. Rokan, another barbarian is determined to save her and bring her back to the tribe. Come to find out him and Lilah are mates and go on a lil' adventure ride before they eventually return to the tribe. Her sister isn't too happy about that and thinks she's forced to be with him.Lilah convinces her sister that she loves him. The story ends with us wondering what will happen to Maddie. Will she find a mate too and be happy in love like her sister. Will she adjust to life on the Ice Planet? We'll have to wait for the next book to see what happens to Maddie.
*A satirical book: Almost in Love by Kylie Gilmore
I'll tell you the god honest truth. If I wasn't doing this book challenge I would of stop reading this book and deleted it from my kindle one time. It's about a nerd who falls in love with his neighbor and he first tries being her friend and liking everything she does. Then asks her on two dates which end up in disaster. So his brother convinces him to be apart of a play and he gets the starring role as the pirate who is very aggressive. He manages to win her over with his aggressiveness that he's channelling from the role. He almost losing her by taking complete control about their relationship from her. But manages to fix his act in the end. Do I recommend this book. Nope. Pass.
*A book that is published in 2016: Never, Never Part Three by Colleen Hoover
Now let me tell you about this series. I read Finding Cinderella which made me want to read the others. Once I read Never,Never Part 1 I had to read the rest. You won't believe the end in Part 3. I won't spoil it for you but I was thinking one thing which was true and another which was true. But Colleen Hoover took it to another level. Wow! Couldn't stop. I listened to this one and couldn't stop until I heard the end. I recommend this book and definitely this series. A must read.
* A book that's guaranteed to bring you joy: Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
I told you I was on a Collen Hoover kick. If you loved Finding Cinderella then you'll love this one. This one follows Sky and Dean. I won't ruin the book but I couldn't stop once I started. I totally wasn't expecting certain events. I was thinking one thing and that idea morphed into something else. A total page turner. If you need a book to read during a long flight. Read this. You won't want to put it down. Loved it.
*A book set in your home state: In Two Weeks by Jen Talty
Imagine you have two weeks time to figure out a way to make the man you've loved forever love you. But you convince yourself it's only sex. Now throw in a stalker who just won't go away.Jared has two weeks to find the stalker and Ryan has two weeks to convince herself that she's not in love with him. You'll never believe who the stalker is. The question is will Jared still take the job? Has he fallen in love with Ryan too? Hmm, you'll have to read to find out. I highly recommend this book. I couldn't put it down especially with a crazy stalker on the lose. And there was too many suspects to count.
