The summer is basically over here in the northeast so I finally have time to do a proper blog post featuring my monthly favorites for July and August. They're are mostly hair item minus one jewelry item.So enough chit chat and onto my must haves.
You might of seen my post on Instagram about my hamsa bracelet that was missing for months but resurfaced one day when I was cleaning in the most unlikely place. Since I found it and repaired it it hasn't left my wrist except for one day when I forgot to put it one. Hamsa's are a symbol of protection and ward off evil in a nutshell. My original piece was all rose gold plated but I had to repair it with gold tone chain and findings. Nevertheless, I still love it. You can find a similar bracelet on our website but in silver tone. Silver Tone Hamsa Chain bracelet
Now with this next product I love what's in the container but of recently this brand has showed it's true colors. I won't touch on the controversy because you already heard about it and has moved on. But when I found it in my hall closet I said I would rather use it then toss it in the trash. Despite the company the product in this jar is pure gold. Shea Moisture Raw Shea & Cupuacu Frizz Defense Hair Masque is the business. One it smells so good but my thick hair loves it. I've noticed less frizz when I use. Will I be repurchasing??? I'm on the fence about that one. But since I stand behind my reasoning for not supporting this brand any longer I won't be repurchasing no matter how cheap you can find them. I'll pass but if you do still support this brand I would purchase this product.
Hold up, stop the press. Who knew Madam C.J. Walker was still in business. I didn't until I went to CurlFest. Now you know she's an OG of black hair care. I tried it and love it on the first try. I finished 2 packets with almost two months. Yes I was using is sparingly. One it smell soooo good, two the consistency is thick and a little goes a long way.Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture Wonderful Deep Conditioning Masque
is the business. It is going to be a staple in my hair care routine. My hair loves moisture and this product gives the moisture it craves and then some. Try it you'll love it. Available at Sephora
When it comes to this brand I love Eden BodyWorks and the same can be said for their Jojoba Monoi Line. Their Natural Deep Conditioner
is a must for my hair routine. I really should of picked up a full container at CurlFest. Well now I know. This conditioner in combination with my other regular conditioners makes my hair happy. Leaves my hair moisturized and helps makes the detangling process easier. Definitely adding this to my must have conditioners. Available at all your retailers.
I have a love and hate relationship with Creme of Nature. I love the scent of it but if I use it too regularly I'm over it.Nevertheless, I was loving there Intensive Conditioning Treatment. If it comes in a bottle like their shampoo does then I've used it in the past. Hands down my hair loves their entire line. It's never heavy or overly thick. My hair just absorbs it and makes for easy detangling. Leaves my hair moisturized. Available at all your retailers.
I started using the Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Leave in Conditioner
when I finished my regular leave in. It can be used on a daily basis but I mainly used it after I washed and deep conditioned my hair. Even when I used it in the middle of week on dry hair it add the needed moisture my hair was craving. Super light, no,flaking or product buildup. I'll definitely be purchasing this product in the near future. Available at all your retailers.
Now this product surprised the hell out of me. I love me so Design Essentials. By day 3 of any hair style I do in my hair (ie:wash and go, twist out, two strand twist, bun, pony tail, pineapple) my hair is screaming for moisture. I normally spritz my hair with a little bit of water then a moisturizer and restyle. I instead used this in place Design Essentials Natural Coconut & Monoi Curl Enhancing Dual Hydration Milk
.Wow! It has milky consistency, super light but highly moisturizing. A little goes a long way. I sealed with oil and my hair was good to go. I will definitely be purchasing when I go in the store. Try it. You'll see exactly what I mean. Available at all your retailers.
July and August were hair products heavy since it was the summer and I tend to spend a lot of time in the sun.Which results in my hair getting fried and needing a ton of moisture added.September has only started so you'll have to wait and see what I'm loving.

Is it just me or did June fly by entirely too fast?!?! Nevertheless, it's time for another monthly must haves. With summer finally being here my must haves for this must reflect the change in the weather. So enough chit chat and onto the products.
Since I somehow managed to finish all my perfumes. Don't ask me how but I have. But until I find another scent to purchase I've been spraying on this Japanese Cherry Blossom body mist
from Bath & Body Works. I've never been into super sweet or fruit fragrances so this one is perfect. This one is slightly floral with tones of musk. Despite it being a body mist it still last pretty long.In my opinion, perfect for year around. It's described as a fresh blend of japanese cherry blossoms, crisp pear, mimosa petals and sweet sandalwood.
Some people gravitate toward bright colors during the summer months. I tend to go toward my neutrals which can go with anything. Some of my favorite nail polish are the Julie G nail polishes. Hands down some the best on the market. Her color range is wide and the staying power is on point. I think I had this nail polish on my toes for the entire month of June. It's Stiletto, I would describe it as a warm taupe neutral. Looks fantastic on tanned skin too.
I stumbled across Dr. Miracles "Feel It" Formula Deep Conditioner one day while in the beauty supply and each time I need a packet of conditioner I snatch it up. I love the smell of it which is probably because of the jojoba oil but I also love the slip of it. A little bit goes a long way. Plus it has a tingling sensation which makes it feel refreshing to the scalp. The only drawback is I haven't found it yet in a bottle. I just keep coming across it in the packet form. Guess I'm just going to have to keep looking for it.
Sunscreens really are all the same when you think about it but it's the SPF level that you need to worry about. With it now being summer I have whipped out my tried and test Equate Sunscreen in Ultra Protection in SPF 50. I think I've had this bottle so far for 2 summers and I haven't gotten burned yet. (knock on wood) Even if I'm going to be out in the sun for a hour or two I still reach for this baby. I'll rather be safe then sorry.
Suave Almond + Shea Butter Conditioner is hands down my ride or die conditioner. I've been using this when I used to perm my hair two years ago. I was still using it when I transitioned and I'm still using it now since I'm natural. It's the first conditioner I put in my hair when I'm deep conditioning. Because one it has amazing slip. Two it really detangles my hair. Three my hair loves it. Four it's cost effective and five it smells amazing. If I had to choose only one conditioner to use in my hair every week it would be this one. When I don't use it which is very rare my hair will act a fool. I'll be detangling forever and a day. If I was to recommend any conditioner it would be this one. Don't walk, run and go get a bottle. You'll be thanking me later.
With it being summer I rarely wear makeup because what's the point. It's just going to melt off anyway but when I have to my go to lipstick is by MAC in the shade Cherish
As you can see from the photo above mine is well loved and I'll be needing another one in the distant future.
On the MAC website, it's described soft muted peachy-beige. Which is exactly correct. It goes with just about anything and you can change the shade of the lipstick pretty easily with any lip liner. I normally pair either a brown lip liner to make it more brown. Or I use MAC's lip liner in Whirl all over the lip and then a brown on the out edge of the lips. Perfection. No lip gloss is needed since it's a satin finish.
So this completes this month's must haves. What's you're must haves for June? Feel free to share below.
