October is coming to a close slowly but surely. October is one of those months where it's actually what the weather is supposed to be. Fall. Cooler temps and time to put on a layer or two.
Now that the weather is cooler our holy grail of favorites have changed just like the season. Here's our October Must Haves.
Sweaters and especially chunky sweater are a must during fall. Being a fall baby I have a love and hate relationship with fall. I LOVE summer because I love the heat but I love fall because it's still a bit warm during the day and a little bit cooler in the evenings to wear those chunky sweaters with a cute jacket, boots and scarf. This sweater (shown above) I got last year about this time from Charlotte Russe
. It's hard to find a good sweater and when I do I buy them in more then one color. I really wish I bought more then two colors.
When the weather gets cooler everyone loves to reach for something warm to drink. I normally drink 1 hot cup of tea in the morning year around but when the temps drop I drink up to three. Most times it's tea.Sometimes if I'm in the mood I might drink a cup of coffee. So you got to have a go to mug. This one I got from the dollar store. It's tall so that means more tea.
Between boots and scarfs are my fall all time favs. You can't go wrong with a good scarf. You can wear them a million and one different ways and now that I'm natural they go double duty as a hair wrap. This one is my all time favorite because of the neutral color and cool animal print. This puppy goes with anything and everything. You can find these at your local vendors, Target, Walmart and etc.
Now that I'm natural and this is my second winter I know my hair needs moisture in the cooler temps. This baby right here is my go to moisturizer. Design Essentials Coconut & Monoi with Sunflower & Shea Deep Moisture Milk Souffle.
It not only helps keep my hair moisturized but smells good too. I use this after doing the LOC method and before I put my styler in my hair. This jar is 12oz and should last you a long time and a little goes a long way.
Curls. Blueberry Bliss Twist-N-Shout Cream . I used this baby a total of 4 times so far on wet and dry hair and I see what all the hype is about this brand and line. It's hands down tha bomb. I recently did my hair using this as a styler with eco styling gel for a twist out and a little bit goes a long way. No buildup or flaking and works well with the eco styling gel. My twist out last for 4 days. I could of went for 5 or 6 days but I pineappled my hair on day 5. I then used it to twist my hair on dry hair and the same. No buildup and my twist are well moisturized and bouncy. I know when I take the twists out that my twist out will be everything. I'm definitely going to try the rest of the products in this line.
I could of added so many more items to my must haves for October but I decided to keep it short and sweet. What's your must haves for October? I would love to know.

Fall is here and I thought it would be fun to create a fall bucket list and mark them off as I go.
I used a blank sheet of graphic paper in my planner and used stickers from Create 365 The Happy Planner Seasonal Value Pack Stickers
to create this bucket list. I made sure to include items that I would actually do realistically.
The first of many items is to eat pumpkin pie. Which I plan on making myself. Then Black Friday Shopping which I will be doing from the comfort of my home online. Cook comfort food. Oh I can't wait since the weather is getting chillier. Bake pumpkin bread, yum. I've never baked bread before so I'm looking forward to doing this one. Roast smores, can't wait to make these. I'm a scary movie lover so bring it on Read a book, done already since I'm a avid reader. Donate to a family in need. Already have a bunch of items to put into the donation bin.Just need to bag them up and drop them off.
I'll check back at the end of fall with my progress.
So are you doing a bucket list for fall? If so, what's on your list?

Happy fall everyone!!! For all you planner junkies, you're going to love this blog post. Take a look inside my planner for fall.
Originally for spring and summer I was planning in my Recollections Creative Year Solid Planner is turquoise but switch out of that in September to the metallic ivory. Perfect for all year around but especially fall. Oranges, reds, browns, and yellows will just pop against this color. You can find it at your local Michael's or online here
I have two accessories attached to my planner. One is a puff key chain which I got literally 2 days ago from a discount store here in Brooklyn for $1.99. Can't beat that. The other accessory is a charm I purchased from Michael's the Recollections Creative Year Tassel in the same metallic ivory. It features a tassel, bead, key and lock charms. You can find them at your local Michael's store conveniently located right above the planners normally.
Now to inside.
On your left hand side inside the pockets I have some Target dollar spot post its and some page flags. Oh and bow clip which I got from Dollar tree. My dividers are made from Target dollar spot file folders. The picture really doesn't do it justice. As soon as I saw them I knew I found the perfect thing for my planner. They compliment the planner perfectly. The pen I'm currently loving is also from the Target dollar spot and just so happens to feature two colors from the folders I used and turned into dividers. Mind you I've had this pen forever but the only downside is it's so skinny that's always falling out of the pen loop. Oh and inside of the secretary sleeve I have some pages from a Target dollar spot pad, stickers from the Michael's Recollections brand and some dot stickers from Dollar spot.
When you turn that divider you have my 2016 yearly calendar from Wendaful. You can get it here.
Behind that I have all the holidays for 2016-2018. This I got from Green and Lyme Digitial Library. You can get it here
. If you notice the tabs at the top. Those I got from Dollar Tree and I use those to break up sections within the dividers so I won't have a million and one dividers.
This next part is my monthly section. The printable I use for this is from Wendaful. You can get it here
. I try to plan each month by a theme using washi tape, stickers and gel pens. This printable is made for midoris but I printed it out and cut then
punched. I measured it against the first divider to get the right size.
After my monthly calendars is a printable that I created for myself which is a overview of any important dates and birthdays for the month. I would offer this as a printable but my computer hard drive went kaput so you'll have to wait for the freebie.
The last section within the first divider is my weekly. Which is from Wendaful and can be found here
. It has just enough room for me to plan my week and decorate.
Now we have reached my second divider. I just so happened to love the colors of the dividers so much that I didn't decorate them and they don't have tabs. Now that I think about it I think about it. I'll make some with the leftover dividers. Because it is a pain to find the divider I need sometimes.
Behind each divider I have post its and page flags because you never know when you have to jot something down. It is a good way to use up all the post its from the Target dollar spot. They're just too cute and cheap to pass up.
This section is my Project Planning section. I scoured Pinterest and finally found something that I could use in my planner. It has an area for me to draw, include materials and the steps that needed to be taken. I found it on Pinterest. Simply put project planning printable and it should come up. Tried finding it and can't locate the right one at the moment.
To round off that section I have some lined notebook paper which I got from Target dollar spot and cut it down to size for the planner.
I also keep a to-do list insert in this section to keep a running list of everything that has to be done for any projects I'm working on. These inserts came with the planner and you get a good amount to either keep in your planner and divide up between your sections or remove to use for later. And that completes my Project Planning section.
This next section feature my personal section which I can't show because it includes some personal information but you can see my previous blog post " 2 is better than 1
". Which show each inset in this section but I'll list below each one I use with a link to them.
-Book to Read list
from Green and Lyme
- Password Organizer
from Green and Lyme
- Online Order Tracker
- To Buy and Wishlist
I also have lists for any important links, hair products I'm loving and want to repurchase, makeup favs, doctors information, medication list, fall and winter bucket lists to just name a few. I use the grid paper that came with the planner for those. I keep a couple of extra sheets for just in case.
The next two sections I can't show because of the information is sensitive to a organization I'm apart of and the other is for my business. But I'll list below of the some of the inserts I use in my business section. You can see my previous blog post "2 is better than 1
" for pictures of the inserts I use blank.
They are the following:
- Monthly Goal Tracker
from Green and Lyme (it's made for weight loss but can be used for anything.
- Goal Planner: Monthly and Weekly
from Green and Lyme
- Etsy Shop Stats Tracker
from Green and Lyme
I keep some graph paper at the back of my business section for note taking. We've reached the final section of my planner which has sat empty until a couple of weeks ago. This is my blogging section. I'm making it my mission to blog at least 3 times during the week. So I recently found some printables which I hope keep me organized.
All the inserts in my blogging section I found on Pinterest yet again. Got to love Pinterest. The first is a Blog Brainstorm which features a monthly calendar and a idea/ notes section. Love this! You can plan you're entire month out. Note: all the inserts were made for 8x11 paper. So I reduced the size to either 50% or 75% to fit my planner. Get them all here
The other insert in this section is for the individual blog post. To write it all out, track social media, stats and notes. Love this one too. And I have a couple of grid paper for notes in the back for any extra notes I may have.
The very last piece of our planner is a folder to hold any loose paper or important documents I may need. I used a Target dollar spot 8x 11 folder and cut it down to size and re-punched the holes.
And that completes my Fall Planner setup. It's fall without screaming fall. The inserts can actually work for all year around. Maybe by 2017 I'll change it up again. You'll have to just wait and see.
